Eric Clanton Was Arrested By Berkeley Police For Attacking A Pro-Trump Activist

A former professor of Diablo Valley College, Eric Clanton was arrested by Berkeley Police for attacking a pro-Trump activist with a bike lock while the guy was at a rally on April 15.

Users on 4chan accused Clanton that he was the masked Antifa activist that beat pro-Trump activist on April 15 in Berkeley. And now Clanton has been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Clanton was a professor of philosophy at Diablo Valley College, in Pleasant Hill, California, which is only 30 minute drive to the UC Berkeley.

“His work in political philosophy also centers on mass incarceration and the prison system,” Clanton’s former faculty page read. “He is currently exploring restorative justice from an anti-authoritarian perspective.”

As a local newspaper Berekelyside reported that Clanton bail was set on $200,000 on suspicion of three accounts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Clanton was arrested in Oakland at 12:15 p.m. and now he is in in Berkeley Jail with a bail set at $200,000, according to Alameda County sheriff’s office records online. Clanton is scheduled for arraignment Friday. The police stated that they have found three victims in the case, all of them with the same injuries in the head or neck with a bike lock.

Berkeley Police Captain Ed Spiller said that Clanton was found at a location in Oakland, California then he added that he thought that the video from the incident was “shocking.”

“We’re taking every case seriously. We’re still asking people to come forward that have information.… There’s still work to be done,” Spiller added.
