As the media continuously overshares every accusation and every unsourced claim against President Donald Trump, is seems like it’s making no impact on the Trump’s supporters, a new report finds
It seems like Trump’s supports don’t know about the chronic stream of attacks the president had ever since his January 20 inauguration or they don’t think that the claims have had an impact at the Department of Justice decision to appoint a special prosecutor to look into ties between the president and Russia. Others are also saying they don’t even care about any of it, according to the Associated Press.
“From the quiet streets of New York’s working-class Staten Island to small-town Denison, Iowa, and even smaller Rutledge, Georgia,” The AP reported, “Trump may be as popular today as when he was elected. Voters are standing with a president who tweeted on Thursday that he is the target of ‘the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!’”
The allegations that Donald Trump coordinated with Russian officials during his recent campaign for president are only based on speculations. There are no evidence of such thing, anyhow this have become the point of interest since The New York Times released a story claiming that the president told FBI Director James Comey to stop investigating former national security adviser Mike Flynn.
Even though Washington and the left media are obsess by the story, the AP shows that Trump’s supporters don’t seem interested in the accusations.
“I tuned it out,” mother and Trump supporter Michele Velardi told the AP. “I didn’t want to be depressed. I don’t want to feel that he’s not doing what he said, so I just choose to not listen.”
Also Joseph Amodeo, Trump supporter, 19-year-old , attacked Trump’s critics by saying, “If you’re wishing for him to fail, you’re basically wishing for the pilot of the plane to crash. You just gotta stick by him and hopefully, he does things that benefit everyone.”
Another 27-year-old Robbie Foy of Rutledge, Georgia, said that he believes in Trump and has not changed his mind opinion of him “Make America Great Again.”
“Trump’s not in it for the money. He’s got plenty of money,” Foy said. And he insisted that Clinton “was in it for herself.”
State Assemblyman Ron Castorina, who represents Staten Island, has stated that he believes that people are getting even stronger in their support.
“Not only have I not heard of anyone turning their backs, I’ve seen people become more in solidarity with the president because they feel he’s getting a raw deal,” Castorina told the wire service.
So, according to AP’s reporting, Trump’s supporters are still sticking with him.
