A current report stated that Melania Trump and Barron Trump will be moving to D.C. in the summer.
After finishing at the Manhattan’s Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, Barron will continue to go to at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD.
Barron is the first presidential child that is going to attend school there, which it makes this a historic event for the private school that was founded in 1978.
The head of the school Robert Kosasky refused to give any information on Barron’s move so he issued an email Friday which said that St. Andrew’s Episcopal School “respects family privacy.”
Following the rumor that led to security concerns and questions by many parents of children attending St Andrew’s, the White House released an announcement early this week. And on Monday the school confirmed that Barron will attend the school to the other members through a letter.
The first lady statement, “We are very excited for our son to attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. It is known for its diverse community and commitment to academic excellence. The mission of St. Andrew’s is ‘to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service,’ all of which appealed to our family. We look forward to the coming school years at St. Andrew’s.”
The school classes are beginning at prekindergarten and going through grade 12.
Tuition for the school is around $40,000 annually.
As it is written on the school’s website, students are educated “in an inclusive environment that embodies the faith and perspective of the Episcopal Church” while it “seeks a broadly diverse community to promote educational excellence.”
The website also says the school’s programs “are designed to serve students of varied interests and abilities capable of achievement in a challenging academic environment.”
The school in 2011 combine with Johns Hopkins University School of Education to create the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, designed assist teachers in applying “the best research on teaching, learning and the brain to the classroom.”
