Russian Fighter Jet Flies Alarmingly Close To U.S. Navy Aircraft

Our nation’s defenses are alarmed as an armed Russian fighter jet flew closely to the U.S. Navy reconnaissance aircraft, flying in the Black Sea on Tuesday, which was just one day before the Russia Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov came to Washington.

According to reports from U.S. defense official a jet with a Russian origin approached up to 20 feet of the American aircraft.

The reports also stated that the Russian jet carried six air-to-air missiles under its wings, that makes this move “highly provocative.” This broth up a number of questions because is extremely rare for an armed Russian jet to intercept a U.S. aircraft.

A report from Russian officials that was released on Friday called the jet’s intercept a “greeting” maneuver. The Russian military also stated that “After approaching a plane at a safe distance the Russian pilot visually identified the flying object as a U.S. surveillance plane P-8A Poseidon.”

Anyway this didn’t look like any other past intercepts, the Russian jet approached the U.S. Navy recon plane “slowly,” making the encounter to last for about one hour, as the defense official stated.

“It goes on almost every day of the week,” the official stated, and another spokesperson said that there were more than 60 incidents that have occurred since 2007.

Even though there weren’t other details of this event reveal, one thing is sure this is a dangerous game they are playing.
